The new BC curriculum wants every student to know how to apply design, build skills and use different technologies. Teachers can use the ADST curriculum to tie other areas of the curriculum together, such as socials, math, and science, through problem solving and design skills. Join former Tech Ed and Careers teacher Don Cameron and Randy Grey from the Construction Foundation of BC for a day of ADST activities that you can tie to other areas of the curriculum. This workshop will cover intergrating woodwork into the classroom in the morning and integrating electronics in the afternoon.
The workshop will be a "hands-on" presentation with participants using tools and understanding how to present these activities into the classroom. No experience with hand tools is necessary; the presenters will help you gain confidence and build enthusiasm in implementing the ADST curriculum.

I'm a past SD71 Comox Valley Technology Education Teacher and District Career Coordinator. I currently deliver ADST workshops for elementary and middle school teachers and run workshops for new student teachers at UVIC.
I'm a past Tech Ed and Careers teacher from SD 63 and was the Trades Transition Coordinator for the South Island Partnership at Camosun College. Currently, I'm working with elementary schools in the lower Vancouver Island school districts to help implement their ADST Tool Cart activities.
