Understanding of gender diversity is growing day by day. At the same time, transgender, non-binary, and other gender diverse students and youth still experience many challenges, including barriers to safe health/social services, educational experiences, and community spaces.
In this workshop, Ambit will introduce frameworks for understanding gender diversity beyond the binary, work through nuanced scenarios, offer examples of gender-affirming practices and explore strategies for applying these learnings on a personal, relational, and systemic level within Sooke School District.
This workshop will run from 10:00-12:00, but Kingsley will stay on the Zoom call until 12:30 to answer questions.
Ambit Gender Diversity Consulting will be facilitating a training on "Gender Diversity in the Schools” on Monday, May 29th.
We're really looking forward to it, and want to make sure that you get the most out of the training as possible.
Please take a moment to fill out this survey by Sunday, May 28th at 5:00pm - it should take under 3 minutes to complete, and your responses will really help to gear the training specifically to you!
How to prepare
Here are a few tips to help make sure you can get the most out of the training:
Join on a laptop/desktop computer if you can (as opposed to a smartphone or tablet).
Have headphones or a headset with a microphone to reduce background noise.
We may do some personal reflection exercises during the training, so please have pen and paper handy.
