NUMERACY - Number Sense Routines: Building Understanding Every Day
Number Sense is foundational in K-5 Numeracy, as it underpins all the other strands.
Number Sense is best developed daily over time, not in stand-alone units. This 2 hour workshop will provide teachers with routines ranging from early years through intermediate level that are easy to incorporate into your math classes effectively, building number sense confidence and automaticity.

I recommend the K-3 book for teachers through grade 3, and the 3-5 version for Intermediate teachers.

Jeannie DeBoice
Jeannie taught for 35 years in the Sooke School District, teaching Kindergarten to Grade 6. From 2004 - 2012, she was Sooke’s Numeracy coordinator during which time she completed her Masters in Curriculum (Elementary mathematics focus) and became a First Steps Facilitator. Jeannie recently retired as Vice-Principal of Curriculum and Learning for the Sooke School District and now continues her work in math teaching math pedagogy at UVIC and as a Numeracy consultant.
