SEL - Skills to Help Teachers and Teens Understand Self-Harm

Finding out a student has inflicted damage on their body on purpose can be scary and stressful. Based on Dialectical Behavior Therapy, this workshop will provide a framework to better understand Non-Suicidal Self-Injurious (a.k.a. self-harming) behaviour, enabling you to provide the most effective response possible to your students in this situation. You'll also learn skills to help your teen students manage their emotions in more effective ways. These skills will also be helpful in managing your own emotions when stress gets high in your professional or personal life.
