In this workshop, you will be given ready-to-go activities on topics such as Social Justice Math, using Pixton Cartoon-Maker to show biodiversity and climate change, math appreciation in our life, and Newton's Law of cooling coffee cups. Rubrics and assessment strategies will also be shared.

Susan Smith has been a math, science, physics and Inclusive Ed teacher for 30 years, 15 years in Ontario and 15 on Vancouver Island. She currently teaches at Mt. Douglas Secondary School in Victoria, B.C and loves the creative side of teaching! Susan has presented to teachers at the University of Waterloo and University of Victoria. She has also been a reviewer and writer of math textbooks for Nelson Thomson Learning. Susan enjoys paddle boarding, swimming, yoga, biking, hiking, and gourmet cooking!
